Promotion Sunday – Sunday, Sept. 20th

Please join us at the Pocahontas Center on Sunday, September 20th as we kick off our Sunday School year! Sunday School will begin at 9:00 a.m. We will meet up in the Fellowship Hall for donuts and juice, before we head downstairs to our classrooms. All children and adult students are welcome! Join us upstairs for worship at 10:00 a.m. where we will be presenting the 2014-15 Attendance Awards and Bibles to our new 3rd Graders!

Hope to see you all there for this fun and important day for our students!!!

PS: The Adult Sunday School class that is doing a 12-week video series entitled Transformed: The Miracles of Life Change will meet for coffee and conversation at 8:45 am in the Friendship Room downstairs, and the class will begin promptly at 9:00.

Sunday School Challenge

The Sunday School Classes are sponsoring a Winter Clothing Drive, and they have challenged the congregation to join in! There are boxes in each Sunday School classroom for the youth, but they also provided boxes for each side of the sanctuary and challenged the congregation to see “which side” fills their box the fullest!

Please be sure to accept this challenge, and bring some new winter items (see the poster below) to help a child in need. Items will be taken to Upper Des Moines at the end of the month! Let the challenge begin!!

This is one time it’s okay to stuff the “ballot” box! 🙂

Youth at Hope UMC

There are many opportunities for youth to be involved at Hope UMC! Please contact the church for more information about specific groups.

Pocahontas has weekly Sunday School for ages 5 thru adults, starting at 9:30 a.m. during the school year.
There may be options for Middle School Youth Group, Youth Bell Choir, and Confirmation depending on the year.
