Ingathering Kits – – let the collecting begin!

It’s that time of the year to gather up supplies for our annual in-gathering kits.  This is an especially great time to buy the school supplies while the Back-to-School sales are in progress!  Below are the list of supplies needed for both the school kits as well as the health kits.   If you are graciously donating one (or two!) of these kits, please have them to the church no later than October 20th.   There is a box for them in Fellowship Hall at the Poky Center.

FYI:  This list of supplies can also be found under the “About” tab, and is linked to the Missions tab, for future reference.

Thanks for being the hands and feet serving those in need!

Important Notes

  • All items must be new.
  • Do not wash any of the items as they will be considered used.
  • Please remove all packaging, unless otherwise specified.
  • All emergency kits are carefully planned to make them usable in the greatest number of situations. Since strict rules often govern product entry into international countries, it is important that kits contain only the requested items, nothing more.
  • Do not include any personal notes, money, or additional material in the kits. These things must be painstakingly removed and will delay the shipment.

Check out the VBS pictures!

In case you haven’t seen them, there are some fun pictures of VBS posted under the PHOTOS tab.  It was such a great week, and would not have been possible without the leadership and guidance of many people, as well as, the many church family members who generously donated items.  Check them out!  Here is just one….

So….Invite a friend/co-worker/neighbor to church!

This a GREAT video about how to invite people to Church. It just takes us taking the initiative to do it. As you will see, never JUDGE people or try to figure out just WHO you think you should ask! Ask EVERYONE–cast the “SEED” liberally! Trust God for the harvest!

So… how do we help “grow” the kingdom? Do we only “Hope” they will choose to come on their own?  Statistics prove that normally doesn’t happen.  We need to invite a friend, a neighbor, a co-worker… not once, not twice, but as the Holy Spirit guides us!!

Absolutely LOVED the distance the trip took in this video!!  🙂

This was too cute, too funny, and too true.  So, the next time you are heading to Hope UMC, remember to invite someone to share the ride!!  Fall activities will be beginning soon, and would be an excellent way to involve a new friend in Christ!
